Year Six Students take the National Primary School Exam

Year Six students across Sierra Leone (including the ones in my school) are taking their school leaving exam today. The National Primary School Examination allows those who pass to continue to Junior Secondary School. It is therefore a stressful period for parents, teachers, and families.

I’m so proud of them. I’ve been helping the students in Class 6 with English spelling and composition and they’ve worked so hard. I woke up early to surprise them and wish them well outside their examination center. Their main teachers have poured their time and effort to supporting them to prepare for the exams during the COVID-19 pandemic. There are 118 students in this years class 6 at our school.

I stayed till the end of the exams to hand out congratulatory lollipops 🍭. They said the English composition topic was “write about your favorite food”, which is a topic I’ve practiced with them three times.

Results don’t come out until September but taking national exams during a pandemic deserves a celebration in itself.

Proud of them!
