2021-2022 Women and Public Policy Program

Thrilled to announce that I’ve been selected to join the 2021-2022 Women and Public Policy Program at the Harvard Kennedy School. I will be exploring how tuition-free education policies and EdTech programs in Sierra Leone are shaping educational opportunities for adolescent girls and gender power relations in schools and the communities they serve.

Over the last few months, I've observed many gendered implications of the Free Quality School Education Program and new innovation policies, which I'm eager to explore further.

I want to give a huge shout out to the many Sierra Leonean feminist scholars, practitioners, and activists who I have had the humble pleasure of learning from over these past few years. Most notably, Dr. Aisha Fofana Ibrahim, Vickie Remoe, Dr. Bintu Mansaray, Moiyattu Banya-Keister, Ngozi Monica Cole, Tania Fraser, and Zainab Hawa Bangura. These women have impressive and enduring histories of being at the frontlines doing the hard work in the fight for gender equity in Sierra Leone.
